Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 28 is Pink Shirt Day. Students across the WCDSB are encouraged to wear pink to promote kindness and inclusion, and to make a stand against bullying.

This tradition began in Nova Scotia in 2007. A student was teased for wearing a pink polo shirt to school, and the next day, students arrived at the school all wearing pink to show solidarity and offer support for him. This message has spread across the world.

Wear pink tomorrow, Crusaders, and demonstrate that we show kindness at our school!

Dear Crusaders Community

With special occasions such as First Communion, Confirmation, and Graduation approaching, this is often an expensive time for parents, and not all families can easily afford the new clothing. If any families have nearly new condition formal wear that their children have outgrown, we ask that you consider donating this to the school.

Donations can be dropped off at the office. We will then be able to let students select what they like from the donated clothing and feel good on their special occasions.

Confirmation Meeting

All Confirmation Candidates and their Caregivers are reminded of our Confirmation Meeting TONIGHT, Thursday, February 22 @ 7PM in the Church.

Please bring your Information Form (with selected Confirmation Date, Confirmation Sponsor, etc.)

Attendance plays an significant role in your child’s education. When your child is absent from school it is important that you contact the office to let us know. If we have not been informed about your child’s absence we have to contact you to ensure that your child is safe at home. Our attendance line is available 24 hours a day. If you know of an absence in advance due to a vacation, appointment, etc. please inform the office as we can put it into our attendance in advance. Please report your child’s absence as soon as possible by calling or emailing the school.

Please include the following information:

• Your child’s full name
• Teacher or grade
• Dates when your child will be absent or late
• The reason for the absence or late
• When your child is expected to return to school

Due to the weather forecasted for this afternoon and this evening we are cancelling our scheduled New JK/SK Registration Night.

We will be rescheduling for Wednesday, February 21st from 4pm to 7pm.  (**just a reminder, this night is for NEW Registrations, if your child is already in Junior Kindergarten you do not need to re-register for Senior Kindergarten)

Thank you all for participating in our Annual Cake Walk.

This year was a huge success and we’d like to thank all those who donated cakes, cupcakes and all sorts of goodies!  We had 106 desserts brought in!  We’d also like to thank all those who participated by buying tickets and joining in the fun!  It was a record year!

Tomorrow is our Cake Walk!

If you are donating a cake, please bring the cake to the office in the morning.

Please avoid cakes that need to be refrigerated and send them in containers that do not need to be returned to you.

Tickets are 3 for $1.00 or 1 for $0.50 and can also be purchased on school cash online!

Next Tuesday, February 13th (Shrove Tuesday), parent volunteers from our Catholic School Advisory Council will be cooking and serving pancakes for our students and staff. The pancakes are free of charge, and there is no need to sign up for them. Gluten-free pancakes will also be available for those who require them.

Students are asked to bring their own fork to eat the pancakes. Syrup will be provided, but students are also welcome to bring fruit to top their own pancakes if they wish. The trays of cooked pancakes will be taken to the students’ classrooms, and students will enjoy their pancake breakfast with their friends.

We also have our Cakewalk on the same day, so it will be a fun-filled day for all.

We are excited for one of our sweetest fundraisers of the year! The Cake Walk is back on Tuesday, February 13.  Ticket sales will begin this Thursday, February 8 and will be sold at 3 for $1.00 or 1 for $0.50 Please return any forms if you are planning on donating a cake.  We always appreciate our community support!
