Happy Summer from Canadian Martyrs!

Dear Crusaders Community!

All of the staff and Canadian Martyrs would like to wish each and everyone of you a fantastic summer holiday!  We hope that you create many memories with your family and friends and that you are excited, rested and recharged when you come back to us in September!  It has been our pleasure to work in partnership with you and your children this year and we look forward to so many more positive memories!

We are looking forward to seeing you on August 30th, from 10:00am to 5:00pm for our “Sneak Peek”, where you can get all of your “first day” paperwork and find out who your teacher will be!

We are looking forward to celebrating our 50th Anniversary in October with all of our family, friends, community members and alumni!

We are looking forward to our 10th Annual Terry Fox Run next year.  Did you know that we are working at breaking the $50,000 mark over the course of 10 years!  What an accomplishment!

However, first and foremost, we are looking forward to a relaxing summer holiday!  Enjoy!  See you on August 30th!

What a GREAT DAY at Canadian Martyrs!

Dear Crusader Community!

As many of you already know we were blessed to have the Highland Fusiliers of Canada join us today to celebrate the dedication of our Vimy Ridge Oak tree!  Thank you Highland Fusiliers of Canada!

Also, we are so thankful for the support from the members of our Board of Trustees – Wendy Price, Bill Conway and Brian Schmalz, our School Superintendent, Gerry Clifford and the other members of the Senior team that were able to make it today, and to John Shewchuk, our Chief Managing Officer for the WCDSB.  What an opportunity to showcase our community in the positive light it deserves!

Thirdly, we would also like to thank our facilities department for planting our tree and for keeping our entire school yard looking beautiful! You are the best!  Thank You!

A BIG thanks to our students who spoke and presented today!  Anya, Quinn, Elizabeth, our Grade 1’s, 2’s, 3/4’s and 6’s! You all made the ceremony a fantastic one to be a part of!

Lastly, to our community members.  The number of you that were able to take time from your busy schedule and join us is overwhelming!  This was yet another example of why this is the best community to be a part of!  Thank you!

We look forward to seeing all of you again at our End of Year BBQ tonight from 4:30 – 6:30pm!

Go Crusaders!

Canadian Martyrs Looks BEAUTIFUL!

Hello again Crusaders!

Have you noticed the front of our school?  It looks fabulous!  With the hard work and dedication of Ms. Putnam, some very great Grade 7 helpers and Mr. Denomme, we have pulled weeds, spread mulch and taken great care of our new Vimy Ridge Oak Tree.

Thanks to all who helped!  It looks awesome!

If you think you would like to help with our gardens now, or throughout the summer, please contact the office.

Thank you from Canadian Martyrs!

Hello Crusaders!

We would like to take a moment to thank our Catholic School Council for all of their tireless work throughout the year in making Canadian Martyrs the best place to learn!  They have worked so hard, meeting regularly, planning events like the “Meet the Teacher Night” in September, the October “Spook-a-thon”, the Turkey lunch at Christmas time, Pancake Tuesday, and the Sara Westbrook presentation.  They have provided funds for our weekly F.A.R.E. winners, sports equipment for each classroom to use at recess, sandboxes for our Kindergarten friends, and Crusader wear for all of our new students.

Their organization, their efforts and their tireless work help to make this one of the best councils in the system and help to make Canadian Martyrs the great place it is for all of our children!  Thanks Council!  You are amazing!

If you think you would like to join the 2017-2018 Catholic School Council, please contact the office.
