Thanksgiving Food Drive starts Monday at Canadian Martyrs!

Hey Crusaders!

We are so lucky to be a part of such a generous community!  We are still counting all of the donations that came in for the Terry Fox Run and we are expecting some great totals!

Now we are asking for your help again.  Canadian Martyrs is having our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive from October 1st to October 9.  We are collecting food for the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Anthony Daniel Parish.  The items needed the most are cereal, biscuits, prepared meals (e.g, Sidekicks), canned fish and meat, canned fruit, pasta sauce, soups, canned stew, rice and Kraft dinner.

Our goal is to collect 1200 food items.  This means about 4 items per person at Canadian Martyrs!  If we reach our goal, we will have an extra recess for the entire school!  The class that brings in the largest number of food items will get free time in the computer lab!

Thank you in advance for helping us feed the hungry!  Happy Thanksgiving Crusaders!

Hey Crusaders! Can you help out St. Mary’s?

Dear Crusaders!

St. Mary’s Highschool needs our help!  They have entered the Aviva Community Fund competition with plans to transform the tennis surface with a Mateflex court system. This multipurpose court will be suitable for basketball, tennis, ball hockey, pickleball and a variety of other community events. This facility will be accessible to a wide range of user groups where everyone can gather, play, and learn.

Please visit the St. Mary’s High School website and click on “Aviva Community Fund” for instructions on how to vote. https://stmary.wcdsb.ca/

Voting takes place from Tues. Sept 25 to Oct. 4 5:00 p.m. Log on once to vote 10 times for the “Community Legacy Multi-Purpose Court for all Users“. The top 10 ideas by votes advance to the Judging Round where 3 will receive $100,000. The other 7 receive $15,000. Winners are announced in November.

Please forward this email to your friends and family and encourage them to vote. Where Kindness Matters, Community Grows! Thank-you for helping!

Thank you for your help!

Hey Crusaders!

On September 27, 2018 our school will participate in our 11th annual Terry Fox Walk/Run.  We have always been very successful as a school community in raising funds to support Cancer Research.  In our 10 years of holding this event, our school community has raised over $56,000!  What an achievement!  This year, we hope to continue our generous support for such a great cause!
