Thank you for your VOICES Crusaders!

Dear Crusaders!

We are almost to our goal of 120 parent responses for the MDI School Climate Survey!  Actually, when we look at the data for the entire Waterloo Catholic School Board, we are in second place!  If you have a moment this week and if you have not already done so, please complete the survey at this link.  Remember, if we reach our goal, YOUR CHILDREN will receive a reward of a movie morning!  The survey closes on April 5, 2019.

Thanks for your continued support Crusaders!

Soles for Souls…at Canadian Martyrs…

Hello Crusaders!
Take a look at the message below from our “Just Justice” Group!

Have a great evening!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Are you doing some Spring Cleaning?  Do you have shoes at home that no longer fit anyone in your household?  Our Just Justice group is continuing to support the Soles4Souls project by encouraging Canadian Martyrs families to bring in gently used shoes which will be shared with people in other parts of the world. Please support our Soles4Souls project by sending in your gently used shoes during the first week of April!  For more details, please see the Soles4Souls website at   Thank you.

HERO Generation is a positive education framework that supports staff, student and family well-being. Plasticity Labs developed the HERO Generation Framework in partnership with teachers and administrators to teach students social-emotional skills to complement foundational academic skills already in place across the curriculum. The HERO Traits of Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, Optimism, Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness align with the Learning Skills from the Ontario Ministry of Education and aim to build a positive school culture where students can flourish.

HERO Generation research in conjunction with existing scientific evidence demonstrates that a valuable way to support healthy psychological development, foster strong social relationships, and cultivate a positive school environment, is to support the entire learning ecosystem. We all need to work in collaboration to make the ecosystem flourish.
Join in the learning as Jim Moss explains how HERO Generation came to be, and how each of these traits contributes to our collective well-being. Understanding your part in the ecosystem will help to foster a community of healthy, and happy, high-performing individuals.

What’s happening this week at Canadian Martyrs?

Hey Crusaders!

Check out what we have been doing over the March Break!  Thanks to Mr. Denomme, Ms. Newing and Mrs. Green for helping me get this on the floor and making sure that it will last!
Sometimes we need to get some energy out in order to be at our best for learning.  Hopefully this helps!
Check it out!

This week we will re-focus on our Lenten promises – remember those ones that we made about Prayer? Fasting? Giving?  How have they been going over the break?

Wednesday will be our Spirit Wear Wednesday – wear you Crusader gear!

Thursday is our Grade 8 Transition Meetings.  Our friends from St. Mary’s will be here to provide us with lots of information about High School!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Crusaders!  See you all tomorrow!
