Track and Field is all set to go tomorrow!

Hey Crusaders!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 our grade 4-8 students will be travelling by bus to St. David’s Catholic Secondary School to participate in our annual Track and Field meet!

It looks as though the weather is going to cooperate with us and we may even see the sunshine!

For now, please note the following:

  • We will be leaving Canadian Martyrs after the regular bell at 9:10am.  Please be to school on time.
  • We will be back to school before the end of the day, so no bus students will be affected.
  • Please pack a healthy lunch with lots of snacks!
  • Please pack sun protection!  Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are all a good idea.
  • Please pack lots of water for yourself – as always, reusable water bottles are best.
  • Please bring a towel or small blanket to sit on, lots of layers, and some rain gear if you have it.  We will be outside for the day once we get there.
  • Please do not bring electronics.  The same school rules apply.  We will spend any “down time” cheering on our friends and classmates!
  • Please bring your usual positive attitude and a smile!  These things will help our day go very well, regardless of the weather!
  • Please ensure that you have gone onto SchoolCash Online to complete the permission form,  It is still available right now!

We will be starting with our 1500M race in the morning, and our track events will be the focus for the day.  The schedule of events is so dependent on the speed of the athletes and the participation rates.  Please do not call the school to inquire about a time that any event is happening – we will not have that information.

If you have any questions, please contact the office at 519-578-7579.  We are happy to help!

We are looking forward to a great day on the track! (and field…)

Good Luck Crusaders!

Grade 7-Up Day at St. Mary’s!

Hey Crusaders!

Did you know that on Thursday, May 23, 2019 our Grade 7’s will be travelling to St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School to participate in a fantastic day called “7-Up Day?”  All of the grade 7 students in our family of schools will be travelling to the High school and participating in a variety of fun activities with each other.  Our goal is to continue to build relationships with each other and get our Grade 7 students to see the high school so that the transition at the end of Grade 8 is a little less stressful!

It is always a great day, and we are looking forward to it!
If you have any questions, or concerns, please contact the office.

Good Luck Grade 7’s!  Represent us well!

Toonies for Tuition at Canadian Martyrs

Dear Crusaders!

Did you know that there are many places across Canada that do not offer publically funded Catholic Education?  There are many places where students that wish to attend a Catholic School need to pay tuition!
We want to support them, and Catholic Education across Canada!

We are asking for a toonie – just $2.00 – from each person at Canadian Martyrs to help support Catholic Education.  If you wish to give more, that is fine too!

Thanks Crusaders!

Survey from STSWR – Thanks Crusaders!

Hey Crusaders!

Please see the following message from Student Transportation Services.

Thanks Crusaders!

We are asking parents and/or guardians to participate in a survey about their student’s journey to school. The purpose of the surveys is to get a better understanding of the thoughts and opinions of the student’s journey to school. We have created surveys for students using the school bus and for students who use other forms of transportation like walking or biking to school. Our goal is to enhance the student’s experience and to improve our services in the future. The survey typically takes 5 minutes to complete and will be open until Friday, June 14th, 2019.

If you have any questions in regards to the surveys please contact the Morgan Potts at (519) 744-7575, extension 229 or at morgan_potts@stswr.ca.

Thank you for providing your feedback. We appreciate the time you have taken and will actively use it to improve our services to you in the future!

Catholic Education Week is well underway at Canadian Martyrs!

Good Morning Crusaders!

What a great Liturgy this morning to kick-off Catholic Education Week!  Mr. Denomme led us in song; our grade 7 friends led us in our readings; Patrick led our Gospel reflection; our youngest learners led us in our goal setting as they told us why they belong at Canadian Martyrs!

Such a great team effort all around and such an inspiring morning!

We are “Called to Belong” as we “Live Together as Joyful Disciples” to support Catholic Education in any way we can.  Please send in a toonie for our “Toonies for Tuition” initiative happening this week.

Looking forward to a great Catholic Education Week Crusaders!
