Hello Crusaders!

Last week, we had the opportunity to pray with and reflect upon the “Pilgrimage Cross” at Canadian Martyrs!  Each class had the opportunity to spend some quiet time with the cross, meditating and listening to the voice of God.  On Wednesday, our Grade 7’s braved the elements and walked the cross to Shantz Park where they met the Grade 7 students from St. Anne’s Catholic school in Kitchener.  Thanks to all of the staff and students for making the most of this opportunity!

This symbolic cross is almost done it’s journey and you will be able to see it at St. Anthony Daniel Parish is about 2 weeks!  Stay tuned!

Popcorn is back at Canadian Martyrs!

For just $2.00 you can purchase a bag of popcorn on either Tuesday’s or Thursdays.  Please take a close look at School Cash Online for purchasing information.

The Annual Turkey Lunch is back!

Once again, we will be gathering together as a school community to celebrate the holiday at our annual Turkey Lunch.  The information will be available through schoolcash online soon (December 5) and we will host our lunch on Wednesday, December 19th!  Remember the most important part of the lunch is that all of our Crusaders are in the gym!  Even if you bring your lunch that day instead of order the Turkey Lunch, we still want you to participate – this day is about TOGETHERNESS!

Primary Christmas Concert

Our youngest students have been working hard to prepare a short Christmas show for you!  We will hold our Primary Christmas Concert on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:45am in the gym.  The rest of the school will have had a chance to see this show already, so they can remain in their classes on Friday.  Please join us at 10:45 for the show!  It should last approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour.

Our Angel Tree is up in the office!

Each year, Canadian Martyrs collects new toys, books, hats, mitts, and gift cards to give to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to share with those in need over the holidays.  If your family would like to donate a new, unwrapped gift please bring it in and we will give you an Angel to add to the tree.  We look forward to seeing our tree change over the next couple of weeks!

The staff of Canadian Martyrs would like to wish all of you a blessed Advent Season.  We hope that you are able to take some time to prepare your hearts for the coming of Jesus at Christmas!  He is the best present!  Take some time to be with family, friends and your Catholic Community at Church on Sunday’s – this coming Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent!
